Out on the town…

Here is my layout for this week over at Scrap Whispers.  This is another – new to me – challenge site where you play along with a team of scrappers based on the Whisper Game.  You all remember that game, right?  Oh how I loved that game.  My most vivid memory was playing on a summer youth trip while we all said silly stuff and in the end my friends set it up so that this really cute boy (who I adored) had to tell me that he loved me.  He so did not even know I was alive at that point – much less “love me” and it was so embarrassing for both of us but thankfully after some 10+ years later my hubby and I have a fun story to tell.  Ok – enough reminiscing - and now back to the challenge.

In addition to the whisper game, there are also weekly challenges to play along with while everyone is “whispering” to their other team members.  The challenge this week was to create a layout based on this advertisement…

I was inspired by the size (8½x11) and I liked the design of this ad and the placement of the title/journaling so I pretty much stuck with that.  I had intentions on also using the color scheme but when I starting working with my photos and playing with these new Pebbles goodies I decided to go a different route with the colors.

Here is a peek at what I came up…

My baby girl was only 5 weeks old here when we went out on her 1st “real” outing.  Up until that point, she had only been to the doctor’s office for newborn check ups.  I plan to make this a 2 page spread showing how we went out for dinner and enjoyed our 1st restaurant meal as a new family of 5.

Speaking of firsts…  This was my 1st time to use Stickles and I loved them.  It does take a little bit of time to dry but it really made that fun flower just “pop” on the page.  Definitely going to see more stickling (Is that even a word?) in my future.

Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to head on over to the Scrap Whispers site.  They are starting a new round of whispering very soon!

Great job, Jamie! You rocked this challenge. So, I have a question....was this boy that didn't even know you were alive now in fact your husband?! How cool!

They're great the stickles, aren't they! I also have some enormous bottles of similar stuff in amazing colours. That flower looks gorgeous!
